Hannah Gelbart is an award-winning presenter, podcast host, and investigative journalist for BBC News. She is the lead presenter of What in the World, a daily global news programme from the BBC World Service, and has reported extensively on disinformation, online harms, and international current affairs.
Her investigations have covered subjects including exploitation on TikTok, non-consensual image sharing on Telegram, and crypto scams linked to global conflicts. Alongside her reporting, Hannah has presented documentaries, live events, and digital journalism projects aimed at younger audiences worldwide.
She joined the BBC in 2015 on its Journalism Trainee Scheme, speaks five languages, and graduated from the University of Cambridge.
